In early June, I reached 2,000 Facebook fans and I was so excited that I decided to celebrate by offering a series of giveaways for my wonderful readers. I originally planned to host 5 giveaways, but I had so many companies respond with amazing products that I am thrilled to announce that I will be hosting 12 days of giveaways!
I am humbled and extremely happy that so many people take time out of their day to read about our family. This blog started as a journal about our daily adventures and has grown into a means to help support my family, something I never imagined possible. Be sure to visit each day to learn about a new company. On the final day, be sure to check out a special giveaway prize provided by me as a thank you to all of you.
Thank you to each and every one of you for reading my posts and sharing your thoughts and opinions in the comments!
Today's giveaway features two of my kids' favorite things, books and Play-Doh! I must admit that I don't love the mess that my kids inevitably make when we play with Play-Doh, but they love it so much that we play with it frequently. When Silver Dolphin Books (an imprint of Baker & Taylor Publishing that specializes in interactive books for preschoolers to 12 year olds) offered to send us a set of their new "Play-Doh Let's Create" books, I knew the books would provide hours of entertainment.
We received "Play-Doh Let's Create Letters" and "Play-Doh Let's Create Numbers". When I opened these books, I was very impressed! The pages are very thick with bright beautiful colors. The characters are fun and the stories provide a great introduction to letters and number. We used the numbers book and Grace enjoyed counting along.
But the real fun is in the back of the book:
Each of these books offers cutters to help create shapes that correspond to the book. The letters book features 26 plastic letter cutters and the numbers book has 10 number cutters. Each has multiple colors of Play-Doh to use and a large double sided play mat with modeling instructions and pictures from the book.
Grace loved cutting out numbers to match with the number outlines on the play mat!
We were able to count the objects on the mat and then find the cutter to create the right number. I also used it as a chance to work on our colors as she wanted to use a different color for each number. After playing with the numbers for a while, she discovered the other side of the play mat that shows modeling instructions for some of the Play-Doh creations in the book. She enjoyed making the bunny while instructing me to make the rocket ship.
Connor decided he wanted to join in on the fun too and while he's not old enough to understand the numbers aspect of the book, he loved the pictures and had a great time playing with the Play-Doh.
I know I'm not the only mom in the world who gets frustrated with Play-Doh clean up. But I have to say that the included play mat made clean up 100% easier. There were no small pieces of Doh left on my table! They get to play with these books frequently now because it is so easy to clean up.
The best feature of these books for me is the storage area that is provided in each:
All of the Play-Doh and accessories fit neatly back into the book for easy storage.
If your child loves Play-Doh, they will love these books. They would make the perfect gift for any preschooler! Check out these titles and more on Silver Dolphin's website.
