Just Pretend Kids: Dress Up Tutu & Wings Giveaway!

Disclosure: I received these products from Just Pretend Kids for free to facilitate this review. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own and 100% honest.

3 days until the 4th of July! I've always loved celebrating Independence Day and I'm excited that Grace is going to be old enough to really enjoy the fireworks this year. Unfortunately, I don't think she'll be wearing red, white, and blue this year because I got a set of dress up items to review recently and she hasn't taken them off much since. So in celebration of the 4th of July, I've joined in a fun Giveaway Hop to share this great company with you!

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Red, White, and Blue Giveaway Hop - a Hop where we celebrate Independence Day, hosted by the Blogging Mamas Network. We're celebrating the 4th of July with giveaways for a whole 2 weeks, so be sure and hop around to all the great blog giveaways that are linked up in this hop. And be sure to let Step2 help your child go Red, White, and Blue with this patriotic Choo Choo Train! My kids would go nuts over this! Don't miss out on that fantastic Grand Prize!

If you've read my blog before, you know that Grace is pretty much a total girly girl. She loves nail polish, jewelry, clothes, and especially dress up. When Just Pretend Kids emailed me to ask me if I was interested in reviewing a tutu and a set of wings, I knew that Grace would be thrilled. I should have known better than to let her choose which items we should review. She took 30 minutes to make her decision. I do have to admit there are a lot of fun products to choose from! I heard "hmm, this one is pretty. Oh, that one Mommy, Grace try on that one please? No, this one. Purple, hmm, that one! for half an hour. She finally decided on the Nina Purple tutu and the Gemstone Wings in Purple. For the next two weeks all I heard was, "mommy, where's my tutu? wings?" So when the box finally arrived, she didn't waste any time ripping open the plastic and racing to her room to put them on. I normally try to get pictures of review items before I let the kids have them, but there was no chance of me getting a good shot of these before she put them on!

She happily posted for pictures in her new tutu and wings and I was instantly impressed with the quality of both items. These pictures are taken within about 5 minutes of removing the tutu from the packaging. I didn't have to do any extra fluffing, it has a ton of volume. Grace loves the sparkles (glitter) in the tulle and the sequins that run along the edges. I ordered a 4T-5T size and it fits her perfectly. These pictures aren't really doing the tutu justice, it is gorgeous!

Dress Up Giveaway

She kept telling me that she was a fairy princess.

The wings are beautiful. What little girl wouldn't like wings covered in glitter and gems? The ribbons down the back are a cute touch. I love the elastic that goes over each of her arms, it makes it so easy for her to get the wings on and off by herself.

When she refused to take the tutu and the wings off all day long, I knew that I was really going to get to test how sturdy these things were. While she is a girly girl, Grace is also known to wrestle with her daddy and brother and play in tents and forts. She's not exactly gentle on her dress up clothes (most are ripped and torn at this point.) I'm pleased to report that both the wings and the tutu are still in great condition after 2 weeks of almost constant use. The wings do bend if they are put under pressure but we discovered quickly that they bend back to their perfect shape easily. The tulle is great quality and doesn't tear easily. I love how soft it is and it is obviously very comfortable for her.

My only issue with the tutu and wings? I can't get them off of her! She has worn them in public multiple times because she loves them so much. Mike's complaint is that we are finding purple glitter everywhere, but I keep reminding him that that is inevitable when you have a little girl in the house!

The Just Pretend Kids tutu and wings are Grace's favorite items that we've ever reviewed. I can't blame her for that, I would have loved them when I was little! If you are looking for the perfect gift for a little girl, please check out Just Pretend Kids. The quality of their products is amazing and the prices are reasonable. They even have costumes that would be great for Halloween or everyday dress up play. Grace would love the unicorn or black cat costumes:

How cute would Connor look in these monkey or dragon costumes?

Just Pretend Kids is focused on providing children with high quality tutus and costumes to encourage children to "just pretend".

We believe that Pretending is a human way of practicing for real life. In many cases it helps us decide what we want or do not want, to be when we grow up. Playing dress up and pretending to be a princess, a pirate, or a dragon are great ways for children to explore and learn about the world and about themselves. We take special care to try and instill our products with this same intention. We want our costumes to make your children feel like princesses, pirates, dragons and lady bugs, and to inspire them to dream, laugh, imagine and explore.

I love that the owners, Jody Wiener and Charlene Walls, are focused on quality:  When you hold our costumes you will feel how soft they are. We use the finest tulle with just the right finish to make our tutus. Our wands are made to minimize danger from sharp points or dangerous materials. We do not sell any items that we would not want our own children or grandchildren to wear or play with.

I know that the wings and tutu from Just Pretend Kids will continue to be a favorite part of Grace's dress up collection. I hope you will check out their other great tutus and costumes!
