Toddler Activities: Pom Pom Drop

Check out more fun activities for your toddler here!

On Sunday, it was 60 degrees in Kansas City. We took family pictures outside with a local photographer and Grace had an amazing time running and exploring. Today, it's 18 degrees. Both kids are bored now that we're stuck inside again. I've been wracking my brain trying to find things to keep them occupied!

I saw this game on a parenting website when Grace was a baby and thought to myself that I should try it when she was older. Amazingly enough, I actually remembered it this morning and I thought it was worth a try. I taped a paper towel roll onto the wall, put a bucket under it and give Grace pom poms to put through the tube.

Pom Pom Drop

I was shocked by how long this kept Grace entertained. We practiced counting, talked about colors, and made the pom poms "race" each other. She loved it! I set it up during Connor's nap and when he woke up, he was fascinated by the set up. I asked Grace to teach him how to do it, and she happily showed him what to do. It was pretty adorable watching them. I apologize for the dogs making so much noise in the background, but Grace is saying "here you go baby" and then "good job!" every time he managed to do it.

He played for about 2 more minutes before pulling the tube off of the wall to use as a sword. I still consider it a huge success! Grace has asked to play the "TUBE GAME!" numerous times and was excited to show Mike how to play when he got home.
