It's been crazy around our house lately. With getting ready for and then recovering from Grace's birthday party, I honestly haven't had much time to sit at the computer. Now that we're entering the end of January, a bunch of her little friends have their birthdays. Our calendar is filled with so many parties in the next couple of weeks! My kids are going to be on a permanent sugar high....

Instead of working on the massive piles of laundry that need to be done, I'm sneaking a few minutes of laptop time to share some major milestones that have happened in our house in the past couple of months!

I'm so excited to share this, Grace is potty trained!! After months and months of trying, she is fully potty trained. She hasn't needed a pull up in weeks and has only had a couple of accidents. It is SO much easier to only have one kid in diapers.

When she finished potty training, we decided that it was time that we converted her crib into a toddler bed. We were really nervous about the transition because she has always been a horrible sleeper. Much to our surprise, she has done great. She rarely gets out of bed without us coming in to get her. Actually, the hardest part of the transition was trying to get her to use a pillow and blanket. She's always refused them before since she sleeps really warm. But we figured this would be a good time to start making her use them, especially since she is refusing to wear warm PJs at the moment in favor of her beloved princess nightgowns.

She has this idea that she can't move around when she's under a blanket, so all we hear for about 30 minutes after putting her to bed is "Mama, turn around!!" So I end up going in there and holding the blanket up for her while she turns over and gets comfortable again. This happens several times before she finally decides to give in and go to sleep. We're working on trying to convince her that she can move around, but so far we're not making too much progress.

Grace isn't the only one growing up, Connor refuses to be left behind and is finally walking! I'm not as excited about this as I should be. He's FAST. Walking just allows him to get into stuff even faster than he already was. He actually took his first steps right before his 1st birthday, but last week he figured out that walking is faster than crawling. So now he is basically running and he's so proud of himself. He's turned into quite the climber as well. I swear his main mission in life is to kill himself. If I take my eyes off of him for even a second, he's sitting  on the coffee table, standing on the couch trying to look over the banister, or trying to climb into drawers in the kitchen to get to the countertop.

When did they get so big?? They certainly keep me busy!
