I've posted before about how amazed I am by Grace's developing imagination. I have absolutely no imagination at all so I love watching her play make believe.
After a horrendous day yesterday, I was in desperation mode by about 4 pm. The last hour before daddy gets home is always hard in our house and I decided to make a fort to try to stop the constant toddler tantrums. This was my quick creation:
3 chairs and a couple of blankets. Nothing fancy but Grace thought it was amazing!
She immediately crawled in and told Connor and I to get in too.
As soon as we all crawled in, she put her finger to her mouth and said "Shhh mama, baby! Quiet! Roars out there!" After a few minutes she informed me that Doc and Buddy, our dogs, were the "roars" (her name for tigers, lions, and dinosaurs.) She saw the Mickey Mouse stuffed animal sitting just outside the fort and grabbed him. "Mickey, it's OK, roars out there, you OK!"
She wasn't happy that we had to take her fort down to eat dinner.
So this morning I set it back up. I put a Noah's Ark blanket on the under side of the blankets and gave her a flashlight to look at the animals.
Sometimes the simplest things are the most fun!
