Kidz Gear Headphones Review & Giveaway

I cannot tell you how much Grace loves the iPad. She knows how to flip between apps, turn her shows on, and play her games without me even touching it. Even though I try to limit her technology time, there are some great educational apps for her and it is a total lifesaver on road trips to visit my family. But after the 100th time of her doing the animal sounds apps or hearing the Wheels on the Bus song, I wish I could just mute it. Thankfully, one of the moms on my January 2011 moms groups posted a picture of her child wearing a pair of Kidz Gear Headphones and I knew that I had to get a pair for Grace. Kidz Gear sent an adorable purple pair for Grace to try and I  have to say that this is probably her favorite thing that she's gotten from this blog!

Here is more about Kidz Gear from the creator Laurie:
Kidz Gear is about delivering a line of products and accessories with adult product features, performance and quality levels, but available at a price-point in-line with products for children.

As many parents have, I too have purchased “toy” products for my children: headphones, binoculars, flashlights — only to find they were poorly manufactured, using substandard if not even dangerous components and materials. Obviously, I was tired of purchasing toys and could not afford to give my children my “adult” versions of these products. I decided there was a need to meet in the middle with high-quality, fully functional and ergonomically designed products that are value-priced and in the sizes and styles kids will love! Thus the birth of Kidz Gear.

The Kidz Gear headphones have all of the high quality components as adult headphones, but are volume limited for your child's safety. The child has a volume control dial, but even the loudest setting is safe for little ears.

I wasn't sure if Grace would like the headphones or even know what to do with them (both Mike and I use earbuds.) I got them out of the box and she grabbed them right away and tried to put them on. We adjusted them to the smallest setting and she sat right down with the iPad. She didn't mess with them or even touch the volume settings. They seemed to be very comfortable for her. I love that they will grow with her and that we will get many years of use out of them!

She didn't want to take them off! Since the first night, she has put them on herself and of course, played with the adjustment settings. They are extremely sturdy and withstood a toddler bending them a bit further than she should have. I was very impressed by how high quality they are, especially considering their low price tag (only $19.99!)

The cord is long enough that she will be able to use them in the car when we are driving to Wichita. Kidz Gear generously sent us a Splitter Adapter Cable as well so that when Connor is old enough, they will each be able to have their own set of headphones! We also received a carry bag for the headphones that we use to store them in. These headphones would make a great gift for a child because they are fun, colorful, and practical!

  1. I think my daughter would love to have either the pink or purple. Do you also know if they are safe for a toddler to use on an airplane?
