Remember to appreciate the small things

I wish I could see the world through the eyes of a toddler again.

She looks at a balloon floating in the air and says "oh wow! wowee!"

She touches shaving cream, rice, or sand and smiles with real joy.

Chasing the dogs or daddy around the house sends her into fits of giggles.

She can play for hours with stickers and she will smile as she says "this one, that one, pretty!"

Doing "chores" like throwing away a diaper, feeding the dogs, or helping unload the dishwasher is fun and deserves a "yay" and a hug from mommy.

I love watching her explore and discover new things. Every day she learns a couple of new words and is so proud of herself when she masters one.

Some days may be hard. There's a reason they call it the "terrible 2s!" But in my moments of frustration, I try to remember to see things through her eyes. And the world is a much better place :)
