Happy New Year!

I'm a little behind on this I know, but I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! My family was in town over New Years weekend so I didn't even have a chance to sit at my computer, much less blog. But I still wanted to do a quick review of 2012 and share my goals for 2013!

2012 was an amazing year for us. We celebrated Grace's first birthday in January and found out that we were pregnant with Connor in February. Grace took her first steps January 4th, 2012 and Connor was born October 29th, 2012 after a totally health pregnancy. Mike and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary and spent our first weekend away in June. Health wise, it was a calm year for me (very unlike 2011!) It was a great year!

I don't think I'm going to make any resolutions this year considering I failed at my one for 2012 on January 2nd! Instead I have some goals I'd like to work on.

Weight- I am actually 12 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight with Grace, thank you breastfeeding! However, I still have about 20 lbs to go before I will be happy with my weight. I really am going to work on eating healthier and I plan to start exercising soon. Hopefully our weather will be nice this spring and the kids and I can spend a lot of time outside taking walks.

Blog- I have multiple goals for the blog right now.
  • I want to start scheduling my posts a week at a time so that I can share more with all of you. Right now, I am trying to post whenever I have a chance during the day and obviously that's not working very well.
  • I want to do a full blog redesign. I finally got photoshop for Christmas so I just need to find the time.
  • I want to work on getting sponsors and selling ad space. I won't lie, money sucks with all of my medical bills from the past 2 years, so making some extra money from the blog would help.
  • But along those lines, I really want to focus on real content on my blog this year. I got overloaded with giveaways and review these past few months and blogging stopped being fun. So I'm going to finish out the reviews and giveaways I have and then I will be much more selective about what I take to review. I started this blog as a way to record our lives with Grace and I want to continue it as a diary of our family adventures.

Daily Routine-  While I was pregnant, I let Grace watch way too much TV. We stopped going anywhere and I spent a ton of time on the couch browsing the internet while she watched movies. I felt so sick I really couldn't do much. Unfortunately, during the adjustment period to having two kids, the TV time hasn't really stopped much. So, I want to start doing more fun activities and spend less time on my computer. I want to have the TV on less and start getting out more. I want to get into a daily routine that involves both stimulating activities for Grace and time for me to spend with Connor. I want to start getting her back to a normal nap time and I want to create a cleaning schedule for myself so that it doesn't ever get bad enough to stress about. I want to start making freezer meals so that I don't have to worry about what to make for dinner. This one is probably going to be the hardest goals for me to accomplish, but for my sanity, it needs to be done!

Relationship- With 2 kids so young and so close in age, it can be really hard to find any time for Mike and I to spend together. By the time we get the kids to bed, we are both exhausted and often have a whole long list of other things to do. We are going to start doing regular date nights and really focus on spending time together instead of worrying about our to do lists.

Attitude- I often find myself focusing on the negatives such as Connor being fussy or Grace throwing tantrums. It makes it hard to appreciate the fun and sweet moments of my day because I let the negative things bother me so much. So I really want to focus on enjoying the great moments. I am going to start taking more pictures and I'm hopeful that the change in our daily routine will help me keep a positive attitude.

What are your goals for this year?
